Introduction
This Diploma programme is conducted by Air Transport Training College (ATTC), the Professional Development Centre of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE).

Course Title
Incorporates the Basic Training for Category A1 of Part 66 of the Singapore Airworthiness Requirements of CAAS.  Upon successful completion of the Basic Training, you need to complete only 1 year (instead of 3 years) of practical maintenance experience which is one of the requirements to qualify for a CAAS Category A aircraft maintenance licence.

As the Basic Training is also approved by the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA), upon successful completion of the Basic Training, you similarly need only to complete 1 year (instead of 3 years) of practical maintenance experience to qualify for a MCAA Category A aircraft maintenance licence.  Additionally, MCAA also exempts you from the relevant Category A basic module examinations.
